V and I went to Aqui Mexican Cafe (I dunno why they call it a cafe…) on 12th & Hawthorne tonight. They had some awesome and SPICY fish tacos. I like spicy food, and this was SPICY.
Well, the point was that there was this odd couple with their kids and what appeared to be the husband’s mother at the table on the other side of the outdoor eating area - kind of like an enclosed porch, maybe 20 feet by 30 feet in size. Well, lil’ miss all-inked-up (another rant) has her toddler getting all fussy and sassy so she decides to just open up and give it a little dinner, mother-earth style (I’m talking breast feeding.) Now, while we WERE at a food-serving establishment, I just think this was a bit gross having someone 10 feet away from me breast feeding her child while I’m trying to down some yummy fish tacos.
What do ya’ll think? Am I just being too American now, loosing my care-free European roots and turning stuffy. Or would this bug you too?
Seattle Seahaws should have won. (

I completely admit, I am no huge football fan and I really don’t care who won the SuperBowl. But after watching the game I have to say Seahawks got ROBBED by the refs, big time.
I heard on the radio this morning that something like 60% of people nationwide (not just the NW) attribute Seattle’s loss to poor officiating. I couldn’t find a link to back that up.
In fashion of poor reporting, that The Oregonian is known for, they attribute the loss to poor execution. Yes, there was a bit of that. But overall there were quite a few good plays and significantly more yardage (70 to be exact) for Seattle than recorded in the statistics because of all the penalties.
And just how many touchdowns were overturned? How many yards lost to penalties? And they still seriously out played, out passed, and overall moved the ball further. Check out the full stats at NFL.com
I do have to say that it was just a dumb, crappy decision to make the “4th & Inches” play a punt instead of going for it.
Overall, Seattle played WAY better than Pittsburgh although neither played all that great. Yeah, they got robbed hard core.

Review: Fabulous! This show touches many emotions all the while being educational, entertaining and clean! If all documentaries were as enjoyable as this one I would know a whole lot more about the world around me. I feel uber-special because I saw this movie in the indie stage prior to being released in mainstream theatres. I can’t take all the credit for that, because it was a friend’s idea but still… Oh, and the penguins are not nearly as large as you might think they are.

Review: Concept = great. Execution = lackluster. The HP Ipaq 6315, fr those of you who don’t know what about it, is a brand new(ish) “smartphone” built exclusively for T-mobile. Think PocketPC, Phone, Camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular internet all in one. Fan-effin-tastic! And I love it. When it works. Unfortunately that isn’t very consistently. The Ipaq locks up on almost a daily basis, and not just requiring a reboot. We’re talking battery removal, to cut all power to the phone. That, in itself isn’t such a big deal - you know, something you dislike but can live with. The icing on the cake, however, is the fact that when you remove the battery the game is over. Voila - you just lost ALL your info and performed a soft reset. Did you remember to make a backup this morning? I sure hope so. Supposedly with the new version of Windows Mobile, this is fixed but that doesn’t help me much. Anyone want to buy a 6315? I’ll comment on T-mobile’s wonderful coverage area another time…

Review: Quite funny, albeit a bit cheesy in some parts. Don’t expect gut-splitting laughter from start to finish. It leads in nicely and then feathers out to a more serious (but not drama-serious) ending. I could do without the “romance” ending, but that’s to be predicted in a film like this. There was a nice little unexpected twist with the nymphy (is that even a word?) redhead and Jeremy. Owen Wilson is always funny in a quiet, sarcastic way and good-ol-boy Vince Vaughn spices it up nicely with the cynical A-type personality depicted in his character. It wasn’t quite as funny as it had been hyped up to be by most everyone I know who’s seen it, but I would recommend this flick. I wouldn’t spend $9 at the gate to watch it again, but adding it to my Netflix queue is quite possible.
