Cool web 2.0 app: HousingMaps
I want to see the cops chase these guys…

Note: I’m not saying you should steal music. Use this when you want to convert files you bought from, say iTunes into MP3 so you can burn them onto CD and listen to the MP3 CD in your car without needing your iPod.
Saw this while celebrating V’s birthday last night - what a cool idea. Way better than a free cupcake that many places give you.
Back when I lived in Finland, we used to watch soccer quite a bit when we weren’t playing hockey. Now, it’s hard to stay in touch with the sport living here in the USofA.
A really cool site that I found is this World Cup Blog. It’s well written, funny and gives insider information from all the Soccer teams. You can even buy your World Cup Tickets on the site.
I’m thinking of flying over there to meet up with some friends. This is one of the best sites for Cheap International Tickets / Airfare I have found so far.
Here are some posts worth looking at: Budweiser at World Cup and World Cup Beauty Pageant The World Cup Tags site makes it easy to follow along on any topic related to World Cup that you’re looking for.
Don’t forget to check out Eurailpasses too!
Germany or Bust for World Cup 2006!
This is cool: http://www.arnebrachhold.de/2005/06/05/google-sitemaps-generator-v2-final

I finally broke down and got it. I’ve been thinking of it for some time, but got hung up mostly on the fact that I’d have to install something on my dash or window that looks kind of cheesy.
I picked up the SIRIUS Satellite Radio - XACT Visor XTR3CK receiver unit, mostly because it’s so slim in frontal profile and will mount above the sun visor - hence the name.
Another contributing factor to this impulse purchase is my drive to Bellingham and back tomorrow in the box truck. No CD player, and crappy stations all the way up I-5 made this look really good. After the drive it will be installed into the Taco. I may end up getting a 2nd vehicle kit and permanetly mounting it for use in both trucks.
In the Dec 05 issue of “Fortune” magazine ,this article, entitled “Blogging for Dollars” by Justin Martin (p.89) is worth the read.
(I won’t bother to link to their site because its CRAP - they don’t have the article online. Not to mention, they are still showing the Nov. 05 issue as “current” so we know it’s been a while since they updated it. Maybe they can hire Umbria to do some blog research and see how lame I think they are.)
Anyway, the article describes a company named Umbria, who has come up with a logic that will search blogs (presumably RSS feeds) for their clients about companies, products, etc and determine through keywords, the opinions of the people writing it. They also have some way to determine the approximate age group of the writer, depending on what they write through their blog.
Definitely a cool, unique market research segment. Yes, Keener you’re right - Web 2.0 is starting to create all sorts of new, cool things.
Unique Idea for sure. Just click your way to donate food - no cost to you but paid by the web site sponsors:

A friend just emailed me this. I dunno if it’s all true but it’s a cool commercial:
Check this out. It’ll blow you away!
There are NO computer graphics or digital tricks in the film you will see (link below). Everything you’ll see really happened in real time. The film required 606 takes.
On the first 605 takes, something, usually very minor, didn’t work. Engineers would have to set the whole thing up again. The crew spent weeks shooting day and night. By the time it was over, they were ready to change professions. The film cost $6 million and took three months to complete, including the engineering of the sequence. In addition, it’s two minutes long so every time Honda aired the film on British television, they were shelling out a lot more dough.
When the ad was pitched to senior executives, they signed off on it immediately. The engineers and filmmakers disassembled two Honda Accords to make the film. Everything you’ll see (aside from the walls, floor, ramp and complete Honda Accord) are parts from those two cars. When the ad was shown to Honda executives they liked it and commented about the amazing computer graphics. They fell off their chairs when they learned it was for real, with absolutely no special effects.
About the windshield wipers: on the new Accords, the windshield wipers have water sensors and are designed to start functioning automatically as soon as they become wet.
Also, you may think that the tires which roll UPHILL must require some computer-generated effects. Not so. That sequence, where some tires roll up a slope, looks particularly impressive but is very simple. There are weights placed inside the top of each tire. When the tires are hit, the weights are displaced and while rebalancing, the tires roll up the slope. This is amazing. Check it out:
