You might want to check out the offerings over at eBags…I got a computer backpack with a single strap from them a few months ago. While it might be bigger than you want, it’s held up really nicely & I know they’ve got a big selection there.

I didn’t pick it up from REI though. I got it from Bike N’ Hike on Grand Ave.

So far I like it pretty good. I wish it had a waist strap, but it actually sits pretty solid and doesn’t move around without it. Interior space is adequate and I like the low profile and narrow design. Another minor thing that would be nice, is a way to tuck in the excess nylon somewhere from them adjustments for the shoulder straps. Now, they flap around at anything over about 20mph. Tying them back works for a bit, but they just come undone later. I think I need to have them sewn down by someone.
